Tools For Tomorrow student Abi Carter (2010 – Washington Charter School) won our hearts when she returned to sing for our virtual gala in 2021 – Keep Their Dreams Alive. Talented and confident, Abi expressed how excited she was to have been a part of the Tools For Tomorrow program. 

Abi returned two more times to perform live at TFT’s 2022 Vision for the Future Award Gala – Musical Extravaganza and Christmas in July at The Roost Lounge.

In 2024, Abi auditioned for American Idol and won!!

During her hometown visit to Indio, CA, Abi expressed how lucky she was to have been a part of the Tools For Tomorrow program. “It kind of helped keep me going and keep me thinking creatively outside of the classroom, in the real world and in life.” Abi thanked TFT and on behalf of the CMA Foundation, ABC and American Idol, Abi presented TFT with funding, a $20,000 check.
