We are excited to share our 2022-2026 Retrospective highlighting the tremendous work of our Tools For Tomorrow elementary school students.
The visual arts are the backbone of the Creative Club program and we use music, writing, and theatre to enhance these art experiences. Our goals are to introduce students to a variety of high-quality art materials, expose them to important historical and contemporary artists, and foster creative thinking in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
At the end of each session, we ask the students what they learned. Some of our favorite responses are:
Looking forward, we have expanded to add a Creative Club program for students in grades 1-2 in addition to students in grades 3-5. We design our program to meet students where they are by creating an arts experience that fits their social, emotional, and developmental needs.
We have also developed a new skills-based Theatre Club where students explore the performing arts by playing improv games, reciting monologues, acting out scenes, and expressing ideas through movement. At the end of the session, we will have an optional family showcase highlighting what students learned.
