Tools For Tomorrow - Alumnus Bubbling Wells Elementary School, Desert Hot Springs

I thank Tools for Tomorrow for giving me the opportunity to be in the program at Bubbling Wells Elementary School. When I first arrived at the school, I was very shy and didn’t know a single word of English.

I appreciate my instructors for taking their time to explain the lessons. I also appreciate the snacks. Since both of my parents worked, they encouraged me to sign up to the program in order for them to be able to pick me up from school.
I thank Tools For Tomorrow for giving me the opportunity to attend Idyllwild Arts Academy. I met students from different parts of the world, and learned different techniques that I could use to draw or paint. We observed work from other students, including a play and computer animation.

Through Tools For Tomorrow, I gained an interest in music. At Desert Springs Middle School I played the Tuba in the symphonic band. We won both gold and silver in Anaheim and Las Vegas, beating high school and middle school bands. In Anaheim, I got the opportunity to visit Disneyland which was a dream that came true. In high school I played the contra in marching band.

I chose to pursue a career that was related to art. I like to draw. I am a junior at UC Berkeley in the College of Environmental Design. As an architect I would like to design homes for the homeless and people in need. I am also interested in designing stadiums for sports

I hope more students join the Tools For Tomorrow program so they have the opportunity to show their talents. There are students that haven’t found their hidden talent yet. There are also students that need a place to go to after school. I thank both of my parents and instructors, for encouraging me to do well in school and to learn more about art.
